These four rural neighbourhoods are now Victoria's bedroom communities and offer extraordinary value for those willing to make the 45 minute drive to escape the rather startling Victoria prices.

 Shawnigan Village is a special place where you can treat yourself to great coffee and fine chocolate at Moziro's, you can spoil yourself and friends with a lovely lunch or dinner at Steeple's, or you can buy yourself some Sushi to go at Teriyaki Jen's and head for the beach. We have are own medical clinic, Shawnigan Lake Family Practice, Shawnigan Lake Spa and Wellness Centre,  insurance, accounting and numerous other small and independantly owned businesses. If you believe in living locally and personally, within reach of the city, consider this community.

I have lived in Shawnigan Lake and area since 1992 and raised my daughter here. I find that rural living within 45 minutes of Victoria,one of Canada's most beautiful cities is a blessing and definitely worth exploring for your family.
